Kelly has been teaching Elementary PE for 25 years in the DeKalb School District in Illinois. She is the 2021 IAHPERD Elementary PE Teacher of the Year and the 2022 Midwest Elementary PE Teacher of the Year. She is currently the Past-President of IAHPERD. She has a Masters Degree in Administration and a Masters in Literacy with a bilingual emphasis from Northern Illinois University, as well as an ESL endorsement and Adapted PE Certification.. At her district level, she is the District PE Coordinator, a mentor to new teachers, the Wellness Committee chair, the D428 Pre-Service Teacher Facilitator and District Evaluation team member.
